What class is like

One evening class night, minute by minute.

Three hours and ten minutes of instruction, with breaks spread through the night instead of stacked at the end. Snacks and water are on us.

That's it. We provide everything else in class. A textbook is optional. If you want one, get the most current edition.

Weekly checkpoints

A 50-question checkpoint every week, written like the real Pearson VUE exam. You'll know where you stand long before test day.

Parking

Park facing the street and leave the spots closest to the building for guests of our neighboring businesses.

90% attendance required

You must attend at least 90% of class hours to receive course credit. Coming back late from a break counts as an absence, so plan your evening around class.

Tuition is paid before class ends

Every payment plan finishes before the last day of class. Course credit isn't issued on an unpaid balance.

Alabama's license law changed with Act 2025-380. Many schools still teach the old rules. We don't.

I'm Tajuania Lawson, Qualifying Broker and owner of Lawson Realty & Co. in Huntsville, and the founder of Pivot to Your Next Academy.

Eight years ago I left my career and asked God for my next. That season of seeking became a brokerage, a renovation company, transitional housing, and now this school. Pivot to Your Next is named for that moment, because a lot of my students are standing in the same place I was.

Every class here is taught by someone who closes deals, runs a brokerage, and trains new agents. You'll learn the law the way Alabama wrote it in 2025, and you'll learn how it plays out in a real transaction.

Before you enroll.

Do I need a textbook?

No. Bring a pen and paper and we provide everything else. If you'd like a textbook anyway, get the most current edition.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes, on tuition. The evening pre-license class offers 2 payments or 4 weekly payments, and the broker class offers 2 weekly payments. Every plan is set up to finish before the last day of class, because course credit isn't issued on an unpaid balance. The Full Pivot Bundle is paid in full.

Is the exam prep app included in my class?

Yes. Pre-license and broker tuition both include a 90-day Pass to Your Next pass. Students who aren't in one of our classes can buy a 30-day or 90-day pass on its own.

What happens if I miss a night?

You need at least 90% attendance to receive course credit, and late returns from breaks count as absences. If something comes up, call the school right away at (256) 468-9370 so we can talk through your options.

When do I take the post-license course?

After you pass your exam and get licensed. Alabama requires the 30-hour post-license course during your first license term. Our next session runs November 7–8 and 14–15.

Is the school really AREC approved?

Yes. Pivot to Your Next Academy is AREC-approved school #179048. Our first course was audited by AREC and received a zero-concern audit letter.
